Nurturing Your Family's Wellness

Feeding your infant can be one of the most rewarding, yet challenging experiences. Whether you are choosing to breastfeed, bottle feed, or a combination of both, our integrative approach ensures you receive evidence-based care without judgment. We are here to empower you with the tools and confidence needed for a successful and peaceful feeding experience.

At Utah Family Wellness, we look at the whole picture—baby, parent, and family rhythms—so your feeding plan feels sustainable, nurturing, and aligned with your goals. Our team combines clinical expertise to help you move through each stage of feeding feeling informed, supported, and seen.

Our Feeding Services

From prenatal preparation to bottle troubleshooting and picky eating, our infant feeding services are designed to support you through every stage—meeting you where you are with personalized, evidence-based care.

Prenatal Feeding Consultation

30 minutes

Preparing for your baby’s arrival can make a significant difference in your feeding journey. Our prenatal feeding consultation is designed to give you the knowledge, confidence, and personalized support you need for successful breast and/or bottle feeding.

Prior to your visit, you will complete our online breastfeeding course, which covers how your body produces milk, how babies breastfeed and transfer milk, latching techniques and positioning, tips for common challenges, pumping basics, and management of concerns such as mastitis and plugged ducts.

During your consultation, we build on this foundation to create an individualized feeding plan tailored to your goals, preferences, and any unique considerations—including bottle feeding, combination feeding, returning to work, and setting up a feeding routine that works for your family.

Even if you have breastfed before, each baby and experience is different. A prenatal consultation helps set you up for success, so you feel prepared, supported, and confident when your baby arrives.

Breast & Bottle Feeding Consultation

60 minutes • For infants under 12 months

This comprehensive visit is designed to evaluate your baby’s feeding from a functional and nutritional perspective. During the consultation, we assess breastfeeding and/or bottle feeding mechanics, oral function and possible oral restrictions (tongue tie/lip tie), milk transfer and feeding efficiency, and adequate weight gain and growth patterns.

We can also explore bottle options and feeding strategies, check in on your milk supply, and ensure your baby is feeding effectively and comfortably—whether primarily at breast, bottle, or a combination of both.

You will leave with a personalized plan to improve feeding success and support your baby’s growth and development.

Note: While it can be tricky, please bring baby hungry so we can observe a full feeding.

Starting Solids Consultation

30 minutes • For infants 6+ months

This visit offers guidance for safely and confidently introducing solid foods. We cover readiness cues, textures, feeding techniques, and how to support healthy oral motor development during this transition.

We follow the Baby-Led Weaning program and help you understand how to offer foods in a way that feels safe, developmentally appropriate, and aligned with your family’s feeding values and culture.

Picky Eating Consultation

30 minutes • For toddlers 12 months – 3 years

This consultation supports families navigating selective eating, food aversions, and mealtime challenges. We provide practical strategies to encourage variety, reduce stress at the table, and build positive, connection-focused feeding habits.

Bottle Trial Consultation

30 minutes • Focused bottle support

This visit is designed to allow you to try a variety of bottles with your infant. A trained provider will assess your baby’s response and feeding mechanics and help identify the best bottle option and feeding approach for your baby.

Please bring enough expressed breast milk or formula to have a full feeding.

This is not a tongue tie or full lactation consultation, but a focused visit to help solve bottle-feeding challenges efficiently and effectively.
