About Us

Anne and Sherri began their journey as registered nurses and then as moms themselves. After years working in the NICU and their own breastfeeding experiences they saw the need in the community for maternal support navigating breast/bottle feeding. Always searching for answers they have trained and learned from the best in the nation and brought those answers into their own practice. Utah Family Wellness has been a labor of love and a life calling for these women, creating a space where the family can find answers, feel supported and leave with hope.

Questions from Utah Parents

We’re here to make your wellness journey feel calm and clear—from your first question to your follow-up visit.

Do we take insurance?

YES! We accept most insurance. As always it is your responsibility to call and check with your insurance provider to see about your coverage. Our list is:

Select Health

DMBA

PEHP

University of Utah

Cigna

Aetna

Medicaid (consultations only, no frenectomy)

United Health Care

Selena Health

Molina

How is a tongue tie diagnosed?

Diagnosis involves evaluating:

Thorough medical history

Tongue appearance

Range of motion

Functional movements (lifting, lateralization, extension)

Feeding, speech, or oral function symptoms

Diagnostic Testing: CBCT (cone beam CT scan of head and neck), Sleep Study (at home or in lab).

Does every tongue tie need treatment?

No. Treatment depends on symptoms and functional limitations, not just appearance.

Can I have a tongue tie evaluation and the release performed on the same day?

No. An evaluation is necessary to get a thorough history as well as check to see if the tongue is ready for release. For infants this may mean waiting for strength, bodywork or growth to happen prior to release. For kids and adults this may mean seeing an ENT or orthodontist prior to myofunctional therapy and then a release. Every treatment plan is individualized. And while we usually do not treat upon evaluation, those traveling from out of state with an infant please reach out for a virtual consultation prior to traveling.
